E-xact payment gateway configuration / documentation

Hi,

I am using the E-xact payment gateway and would like to make sure I have properly configured the relay response urls.

I looked in the documentation and it looks like the section for E-xact is simply a copy of the Authorize.net instructions so it’s difficult to interpret. (See https://eventespresso.com/version/ee3/ because different terminology is used.)

Inside the E-xact payment page configuration (at the chase.e-xact.com website) it requires two urls:

1. Receipt Link URL
2. Relay Response URL

In Event Espresso, I have the following two pages configured:

http://www.mydomain.com/thank-you (?page_id=5)
http://www.mydomain.com/transactions (?page_id=7)

Currently I have the Receipt Link URL set to the thank-you page and the Relay Response URL set to the /transactions page.

Is this how it should be set up? Does it matter whether I use the page_id or the permalink in the urls?

The reason I’m asking is that we are adding Interac Online to our hosted payment page at E-xact, and Interac uses different terminology. In order to set up the account, they are asking what the urls are for:

1. Funded Transactions
2. Non-funded Transactions

I’m guessing the Funded Transactions would be the thank-you page, and the non-funded would be the transactions page, but I don’t fully understand how it all works. Please advise.

Thanks for your help!
Scott

Hi Scott,

It turns out the Receipt Link URL (under Receipt Page Settings) and the Relay Response URL (under Authorize.net Protocol – Relay Response Settings) use the same URL in Event Espresso 3.

You’ll find the correct URL to input there by logging into your WP admin and going to Event Espresso > Payment Settings and under E-xact Settings there’s a yellow box that says Relay Response URL. It will look something like this:

http://yoursite.com/?type=exact&page_id=5 (it will replace 5 with the page ID that redirects to your Thank You page)

The transactions URL isn’t used by the Authnet gateways or the authnet gateway clones including e-xact or First Data E4.
