Upgrading from 3.0.19 – Custom Payment Gateway not supported

Before we launched our site last year, we had a custom payment gateway for ViaKlix (now Virtual Merchant) created by an independent programmer. This week we upgraded our WordPress to the latest version (to be PCI Compliant) which broke our Event Espresso editing options. I upgraded Event Espresso to the latest version, but our custom gateway was not supported/needs to be updated. So in the end, I had to revert the site back to what it was before the WordPress upgrade so that event tickets could be purchased.

Will a Premium Support Token be able to address our problem? Will one token be enough? Would it be better to try to find an independent programmer instead?

I’m a little confused. So I just need to purchase the Custom Development at $135 and you guys can get started? Or do I also need to fill out the Customization Review (https://eventespresso.com/contact/customization-request-form/)?

Please advise. Again the payment gateway has already been created, it just needs to be updated to work with your current Event Espresso version.

Hi lfoster,

The gateways have been completely refactored twice since 3.0.19. Since we did not originally develop the gateway, and what you have right now will need to be completely refactored to work with the current version (again, all the other gateways were completely refactored back in February and again for 3.2) it may be a good option to have the gateway integrated:

Unfortunately we do not have enough in our budget for you all to update the gateway.

Can we upgrade to WordPress 3.3.2 and still use Event Espresso 3.0.19.P.41? We are currently using WordPress 3.2.1.

Or by upgrading to WordPress 3.3.2, which version of Event Espresso do we need and will our current custom payment gateway still work?

Hi there,

Is it possible to use another gateway in this case? There are many more gateway options now than there were one year ago.

Event Espresso 3.0.19.P.41 was compatible up to WordPress 3.2.1. WordPress 3.3 had some changes that required Event Espresso to be updated, and these changes were in Event Espresso 3.1.15.P. Starting with Event Espresso 3.1.16, the gateway system had been overhauled.

It might be possible to use Event Espresso 3.1.15.P with your gateway with a few modifications, but we can only offer support for current versions of Event Espresso.

If you need to update to WordPress 3.5, you’ll need to update to Event Espresso 3.1.29. Please see this post in our blog for more info:

Thanks for the info Josh. Unfortunately we need to stick with this gateway at this time. Where can I download Event Espresso 3.1.15.P? I shall give that a try.

Josh,
We are still waiting for the Event Espresso files for version 3.1.15.P. Have you attempted to email it to us? We also have Dropbox if that would work better. Please let me know immediately, as we would like resolve our issue today so if this EE version doesn’t work we can take advantage of the Holiday Cheer coupon before it expires tomorrow.
