Ticket types and recurrence

I need to be able to sell different ticket types for each event. For example for any event I need the user to be able to select multiple ticket types and choose from multiple ticket types as well. like 2 adults and 2 children. I also need it to be able to process a family ticket being worth 4 of the total no. of spaces allowed for any event. One thing I was able to play with in the pro tester site was recurrence and I was able to duplicate an event but when editing the event it edited all of the orginals recurrences rather than creating a duplicate event with its own recurrence. If these issues are easily fixed (be it my issue or a limitation of the program) then I am seriously keen to buy!!

Hi Oliver,

Thank you for considering Event Espresso.

Regarding multiple ticket types, we have the Mult Event Registration Add-on which allows you to add events to a cart system, allowing multiples of multiple ticket types to be purchased.

Currently we don’t have functionality for a ‘Family’ ticket that would apply for multiple attendee numbers, there are ways around this but it would depend on the pricing structure your are using. If using the Multi Event Registration Add-on mentioned above then you would use another Add-on (currently in Beta) called the Volume Discount Add-on.

What this does is automatically apply a discount once a set number have tickets have been reached in the cart.

Regard Recurring events.
When you duplicate an event within a recurring series, that event remains within that series so currently you can not duplicate the event and then create a separate series from that duplicate, you would need to recreate another series.

You could however extend the series for that event if needed.

If you have any further questions please let us know.

Thanks for the reply. One other thing is creating a set of tickets that you can apply to a series of events, is that possible with the add-on you mentioned or will I have to create each type of ticket within each event?

If you are creating a price (ticket) within an event that is in a recurrence sequence, then you can choose to have that price added to all the events within that recurrence sequence. If it is for an event that is not in a recurrence sequence, then no, you would have to recreate that price for each event. I was just looking at it, and it is an easy thing to do by direct database manipulation. You would just copy the rows that apply to event_id=A, and then change the event_id’s of the copies to apply to event_id=B. That would copy all of A’s prices into B. We could add it to the list of feature requests, or you could speak with our sales manager about sponsoring the development of it, or you could hire one of our recommended developers to create it for you.

It would be useful (and I have seen it in other similar plugins). Set your tickets up and then apply them to events. But thanks for the feedback I think I am going in for the plunge! Wish me luck!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Oliver,

With MER, the event must have more than one ticket choice in order to show more than one, alternatively more than one event should be added to cart.

The Volume Discount add on requires you to sign up to the Pre Release channel, here is a guide on how to do that https://eventespresso.com/wiki/pre-release-channel-guide/

Just to confirm I am Oliver who posted the question but for some reason I had to setup another account when buying the plugins!

Hi,

Are you including the Add to Cart shortcode within the event description?

When using the event list on your site and adding an event to the cart I could see all your ticket types http://d.pr/i/kQTM

If you would like to start your own thread detailing your issue we’ll be more than happy to guide you through what is needed.

We normally ask each user to post up any issues in their own threads to keep everything easy to follow for all.

You actually replied while I typed my reply stating you are are the same user but as this is no longer a Pre-sales question its worth starting a new thread in the support forum anyway 🙂
