Data That Did Not mirgrate

1) In payment details we use to manually enter voucher information for our customers for our records in the text box labeled “transaction type” that we would also be able to view in the attendee list as “type”. Is there a way to retrieve this information?

2) Is there a way to change the registration number or Is there a way to add a box that we can manually add some text/numbers for our own records as manually add attendees?

3) The promo codes data did migrated for a moment when we activated the promo code plugin and then it disappeared.

3) Promo Codes. Is there a way to have a side bar for promo codes like in EE3 so we can select per event rather than check off? Also when the boxes are greyed is there a way to bypass this. We tried after we deleted someone that abandoned the payment and it did not allow us to.

Events Overview

4) In events overview we only want to immediately see “upcoming” with the most recent date first. Is there a way to keep it filtered this way?

Attendees

Sometimes we want to change the quantity of an attendee manually for example 1 to 3. How can we do this? We do this so that each person in a group does not have to register we reserve it under one person in order to keep the groups together for seating.
Is there a way to remove the group questions so that the primary guest does not have to fill in all of the information for secondary guests.

Registration Page

How do we remove Author, Comments and top left hand random date at the top in the registration/front page and add Venue details like address our address?

Is there a way to have the registration page one sheet like before where you can see description of event, price, time, date, venue address, a link to map, the person can add their personal information, promo code box and then submit button? Rather than have a promo code having to be approved.

Thanks so much for your reply on our many questions. One more issue. Our website calendar do not show the featured image. . Our calendar settings are set to “Yes” on Enable Images. This happened suddenly and don’t know how to fix it.

Hi there,

I checked your site and it appears to be the CSS that was added to the theme’s settings panel that’s causing this.

Can you go to your theme’s options and remove the following:
#espresso_calendar .fc-event {min-height: 3em;max-height: 3em;}

Alternatively, you can make wrap the min-height and max-height rule in a CSS media query so it only affects small screens.

Hi.. there are 2 more things we are trying to figure out. When we are in our dashboard in the overview of events we cannot find out inactive April 2016 events. These are really not inactive they are just “sold out”. Also our customers are saying they are not getting their confirmations. We tested this and it is not working. Can you help? Please bear with us as we have made a big jump from EE3 to EE4.8. One thing that is mind boggling is we did this upgrade about 2 weeks ago, why is it suddenly these problems pop up? We wake up every morning wondering what will we be dealing with today.

Addition to previous post – We only want our customers to receive a confirmation once their payment has been completed. Not Pending. Just trying to be thorough.

When we are in our dashboard in the overview of events we cannot find out inactive April 2016 events.

This should resolve itself by tomorrow, or you can also not use the month filter today. (It’s March 31st and there’s a PHP bug that affects this).

Also our customers are saying they are not getting their confirmations. We tested this and it is not working. Can you help?

I checked and the payments/transactions are completing, but test emails are not sending. I can recommend installing an email log plugin and try sending out a few test emails, then check for errors. The solution may be to use a transactional email service instead of the built-in mail server that’s included with your web host account. We have some recommendations here:

Hi Josh, I”m going to look into this but what is confusing to me is it was working. What happened? Just the same on other issues. It’s working and then suddenly it is not. Trying to understand.

The issue with the dates is due to a bug within PHP, on the 31st of the month it can cause problems with the dropdowns. It’s a known issue within PHP itself that only happens on the 31st, once the day has passed the dates function as expected again.

With email issue have you changed any of the message templates or email settings within Event Espresso?

There are many different factors that come into play with email issues, for example your host may have made a change on the server, or their webserver blacklisted for spam. So the first step is to use a server that is known to be good, such as one of the transnational email services Josh mentioned. We can then rule out issues with mail servers and start to narrow down other possible causes (although generally switching to one of the above works as expected)

Hi Tony, In our case we noticed the PHP problem started from the 30th through the 31st but it could be a time zone issue not sure because the upgrade was done for our Midwest location and I’m located in the West coast. But as far as the confirmation notices, I really don’t know much about servers and the cause. We have not changed any of the message templates ore email settings so to have this problem was just another on the pile. Just like we hadn’t changed anything and all of a sudden our images we’re not showing when we woke up one morning. The EE4.8 jump has been frustrating to say the least but we’re trying to hang in there. Thanks for your support.

It turns out the images disapearing were not caused by the update to Event Espresso 4, they were caused by someone making a typographical error in the custom CSS. You’ll note that after the typo was removed, the images were restored. Hope this information helps clear that up.
