Hi,
I posted this some months ago… and now even my dentist is sending me iCal events embedded in email. I had an event today with 35% no-shows and I wonder how many would have come if they had been able to easily add this to their calendar. This should really be a basic feature 🙂

Hi Kevin,
Try adding this shortcode in the date times area of the registration approved message type and then save changes:
[ICAL_LINK_* link_text=”Add event to my calendar”]

Hi Lorenzo,
Thanks for the reply. I am using EE 4.8.10.p and attempted to add the short code ICAL_LINK_* to Event Espresso > Messages > Registration Approved > Registrant. The short code does not seem to be valid or available for any area on this form – I tried all of them.

Hi Kevin,
I checked on this and it turns out the iCal shortcode was added in Event Espresso 4.8.21. This means you’ll need to update to get the new shortcodes. Once you update, you can add the shortcode to the [DATETIME_LIST] section like in this screenshot.

Threads remain open for 2 weeks if there is no activity and then automatically close, if any of your threads close and the issue is still open just open up a new thread, link to you previous one and we will merge them into one and continue troubleshooting.
We (the support team) will not close this thread 🙂
