Split: Abandoned registrations

I am using 4.6.2 and am experiencing the same issue.

All 4 registrations since updating are showing yellow TXN Dates and have a transaction status of Abandoned.

Under Payment Details (when viewing the transaction):
– One shows an approved payment
– One says No payments have been made
– Two have a failed status
(We use PayPal Standard as our payment gateway)

Hi Scott, were PayPal payments received for all four registrations?

I am having the same issue. I get PayPal confirmations of the payment, and when I check Event Espresso, the registration is usually marked “Abandoned”. Sometimes the payment is marked “cleared” and sometimes not.

Hi guys,

Please make sure you have updated to EE4.6.4. If the issue still occurs on that version please let us know.

We are using 4.6.4 and this issue is still going on. We just received another registration with a confirmed payment that is marked as abandoned.

I am using 4.6.4 as well and have discovered the same issue. Some transactions go through and a confirmation email is sent to admin and some get abandoned. We are getting notification from PayPal that the transaction is going through on their end but not on EventEspresso.

I have a similar but not exactly the same issue; I did a test on my site and pressed the link on paypal website “cancel and return to merchant” whereupon I was shown the Payment Cancelled page on my site (all good) – but I did not receive any cancellation email (as I used to prior to updating), and in the EE4.6.4 admin it shows the registration as “Pending Payment” instead of cancelled.

I have the same issue using EE4.6.4

Payments are going through fine for all transactions using PayPal but when we look at registrations the date and time of the TXN date is in orange and when you hover over it, it says ‘View Transaction Details (abandoned). Strangely though the colour code at the far left of the record is green (approved) but the wording as above and the little shopping cart simple is in orange. . . Some are coming through just fine but the majority (95%) are not.

We receive the money, the payment is received and approved but the attendee’s are not appearing on the registration csv which is causing huge issues for us.

Also posted this on another related thread (sorry for redundancy)… my clients are reporting error messages when they try to pay even though PayPal processes the payment, but it’s marked abandoned in EE (current version). The transactions were all tried 3 times (all marked abandoned in EE). The client was very confused but got a payment made confirm email from PayPal. My return to site URL in PayPal is set correctly.
Ideas?

Hi everyone,

We think the problem is that when Payment Data Transfer (PDT) is active in your PayPal account, PayPal sends the user back to Event Espresso with completely unexpected payment data. So it looks like the payment failed in Event Espresso.

I believe we have a fix coming soon. We’ll post an update when we have a fix or have more details.

We are still experiencing some abandoned registrations while the PayPal payment shows as approved and PayPal notifications are received.

(We are running 4.6.5)

Please update to the latest version. There were further checks and tweaks added in later versions.
