Anyone getting this issue? Sorry, there was a security error and your registration was not saved.

It was working fine before. I switched servers, now its not working.

I’m using Event Espresso – 3.1.35.1.P

I disabled WP Super Cache. Nothing else I found on the forums. Any help would be awesome.

Hello,

If you were running a caching plugin and then disabled it, then the existing cache is likely still in place.

Please reactivate the plugin via WordPress admin –> Plugins and then clear the cache.

Next, setup no-cache rules through your caching plugin for your Event Espresso pages and save changes:

Hi Josh,

I just ran a test registration on your event and had no issues.

Does this still happen when you register?

Hi,

I’m wondering if it’s your local cache as Tony didn’t have an issue registering.

Have you cleared your browser cache and tried a registration with another browser/computer?

Yes, I got that message on Facebook today from a customer. I have gotten some successful attempts and many people emailing me for errors.

I see the problem now and it is due to Caching.

You can see this by going to your event using your ‘Events’ navigation menu. On the 26th event if you view the page source code you’ll find:

!– Dynamic page generated in 2.208 seconds. –>
!– Cached page generated by WP-Super-Cache on 2014-09-07 15:39:30 –>
!– super cache –>

If you go to you WP-Super Cache settings, Advanced, within your do not cache strings you should see – http://take.ms/GOeHq

The /events/ string should be force the current events page not to cache, do you have thay within the strings there? You’ll need all the strings I have in that image, plus any others you may have added.

If you do have that, go back to the ‘Easy’ tab and press delete the cache to purge the current cache.

To explain, ‘Sorry, there was a security error and your registration was not saved.’ is displayed when a Nonce check fails. It’s a way of ensuring a specific URL/Session is used once (or only within a specific time). When a page is cached it will generate the page with a nonce and store that page to be served to your customers, the nonce expires and people start to see the error. If the cache is refreshed a new nonce is created an we start all over again.

I did delete the cache/pages then disable the plugin… Now I added the string you added and did the delete cache/pages information… Lets try it again!
