Shortcodes not showing after event registration

Hello,

I’m having issues to solve a problem happening when the user receives the Event Registration Details / Mail and PDF.

The documents are all shown with shortcodes in it, which seems to be not retrieving properly the data needed… Plus, it’s acting really weirdly, showing twice the same section.

I have attached pictures so you can see better what’s happening

Any help will be much appreciated,

Thanks,

Hi, that should not happen. The email notifications should populate with the actual information.

Who is your hosting provider and do you know if there is any caching services running?

Hi,

The host is CPanel, and there’s a plugin running called W3 Total Cache. But I’m not sure if this is what’s causing the issue. I’ve tried again without cache, but it’s still doing it…

Any clue on what could be causing that apart from the cache ?

Hi,

Please clarify the host, cPanel is merely the control panel software being used. A host is someone like GoDaddy, WP Engine, etc.

Cache can be tricky, especially plugins. Just disabling the plugin does not always disable and clear the cache.

You may want to try adding the Event Espresso pages to the no cache (whitelist) rules, and clear the site cache and your browser cache: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/

Hi,

The host is A Small Orange. I’ve just contacted them, they told me there is no internal caching system on the server…

i’ve also followed the tutorial you sent me, but it didn’t change anything… Is there any other pages that should be included into the whitelist ?

Thanks,

Hi, was Event Espresso manually installed or was it installed through the WP dashboard?

Could you provide a link to any event on your site?

Hi,

It has been manually installed on a dev server, then the whole website has been migrated to a production server with help of Updraft Plus Backup. Then the serial key has been filled and all updates since then happened through the WP dashboard.

You can get to an event here : http://www.traintocreate.com/events/adrian-sommeling-composite-series-london-2015/

There is a free ticket if you want to try the registration process.

Hi, I’m not familiar with that plugin. Could you try a re-install of Event Espresso 4 through your WP dashboard?

Begin by backing up your WordPress:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-back-up-your-site/

Next, download the latest version of your Event Espresso software from your account:

https://eventespresso.com/users/traintocreate/#ee4-downloads

Now login to your WordPress admin and go to Plugins. Locate Event Espresso in the list of plugins and deactivate it and remove it.

Then from the Plugins screen in the WordPress admin click on Add New –> Upload. Then browse to the zip file that you downloaded from your account. Select it and begin the upload process.

You can activate Event Espresso after it has finished.

Then try one more registration and let us know if the issue resolves itself.

Hi,

I’m sorry to say that this trick didn’t do anything… The problem is still there !

Should I give you some accesses so that you could get an eye on it ? This issue is a major bug, which is blocking the main purpose of the website 🙁

Let me know if there can be still solutions for that,

Thanks,

Hi,

Looking closer at the Invoice PDF, it looks like there is a problem with how the site was transferred, as there is visible serialized data showing. Serialized data is how a lot of our settings and information is stored in the database.

For example on the Order Confirmation page, at the top it says:

a:12:{s:4:”main”;s:3821:”

This is obviously not something that should be showing.

You may need to re-migrate your database. I would suggest making a backup of the live site database (as a precaution), then dropping (delete) the database and transfer again from the dev site, perhaps use the WP Migrate DB plugin.

Alternatively, you could try removing all EE related data (after backing up the database) from the Maintenance page > Reset/Delete Data tab.

I would try the Reset Event Espresso Tables option first, but if needed use the Permanently Delete ALL Event Espressso Tables and Data option and reactivate the plugin.

The first option will require you to re-input the EE related settings.

The second option will require you to add all events and settings again.

As a reminder, please backup the entire database prior to doing anything, so you can revert to it if necessary!

Hello,

This one solved the issue, finally…
I guess Event Espresso didn’t like the migration process !

Thanks for the support !
