Hi James,

Is this a low traffic site?

As in when you triggered the email did the site not get any visitors for those 2 days? Then you received the message after viewing the site?

Go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Settings

There you will find the option ‘Generate and send all messages’.

Set that to ‘On same request’ and re-test, do you receive the batch message instantly?

Hi Tony,

Thanks! Followed your instructions above and it got fixed – received the message instantly.

Another thing, an old problem of ours. How come I don’t receive the message from “Send Batch Message” when I’m sending it to my @gmail.com but my @mindfulbydesign.com is receiving it?

Thanks again.

Have you checked the spam folder in the @gmail.com account?

Hey Josh,

Yes, checked in spam too but it’s not there.

Thanks.

There’s a few possible reasons however they are all outside of the control EE has on the emails.

Basically EE builds and email out and sends it over to the wp_mail() function (a core WordPress function) which checks the formatting and adds any additional details needed for the emails. wp_mail() then passess the email over to your server to do whatever it chooses to do with the emails (depends on how you host is setup or if you are using a smtp/transactional email plugin)

So after EE passes the email to wp_mail() it has no control over the emails at all, your server does.

What can happen is the mail server (either sending or receiving) is flagging the email as spam and simply blocking the email, to confirm you’ll need to contact your host and investigate that further.

If you are not using one of the transactional email services linked above I would recommend looking into using one of those, we find they ‘fix’ the majority of issues users are having when using their hosts mailserver.
