I have an event coming up and want to sell a specific number of tickets for different events within the same event. How can I do this with Event Espresso?

Thanks in advance.

Lawrence.

Hi WebKi Events,

Currently Event Espresso does not offer ‘Events within an Event’ functionality.

Each of those events would need to be created as a separate event within Event Espresso in order to be able to sell specific ticket quantities for each of those.

What you could do is setup the individual events, then use the Multi Event Registration Add-on to allow users to add those individual events to a ‘cart’ and then register for those events in one registration.

How you set this up will depend on how your event will be setup, for example do you pay for the main event and can attend without needing to purchase any of the individual events also, or is the main event free and you pay for the individuals?

Thanks a lot Tony. I’ve just tried to install EE4 to test the functionality for my events and I now can’t enter my site at all. I didn’t remove EE3 beforehand – is this a general problem? Can you advise how I can get around this problem?

Thanks.

You can use either EE3 or EE4 but you can not use them both at the same time unfortunately.

You’ll need FTP access (or some form of ‘File Manager’ available through cPanel)

So if you log in using FTP, you’ll need to find your plugins directory (/wp-content/plugins/) this could also be within a sub-directory as it depends on how the server is setup.

Once there you should find ‘event-espresso’ (EE3) & ‘event-espresso-core-reg’ (EE4) directories.

Rename the EE4 directory. It can be anything but I recommend just adding ‘-temp’ to the end making ‘event-espresso-core-reg-temp’ – This will de-activate EE4.

You should now be able to log into the site once more.

Now go back to your FTP client, and rename ‘event-espresso-core-reg-temp’ back to ‘event-espresso-core-reg’ (it will still remain deactivated)

We recommend you run EE4 locally first to see if it suits your needs. At the very least you should back up the site (and database) before using Event Espresso 4, we have a guide posted here to show you how to do this:
