As of Event Espresso 3.1.29.1, the promotional codes discount each ticket purchased, rather than the total of the tickets purchased which happens in versions prior to 3.1.29.1.
Looks like the update killed feature needed. Need a promotional code or a group coupon (single use) to just give a discount on one ticket in the registration process, not for all the tickets. Is there a way to still achieve this? Need code to give one ticket discount.

Hi, the promotions system will currently apply on a per-event basis. If you need a discount for a specific ticket, then try creating a new event for this specific pricing option. Then you can link the promotion through the event editor.

Problem is that for one event a company (in this case) can book for more than 1 person (so more tickets). The promotion however is activated on all the tickets in these case. If your suggested option is an option in this case, could you direct me to an example of info to what you mean?

Hi, I thought you meant if a promotion could be applied to a specific ticket option. For example, if an event had three types of tickets, then only apply to one of them.
It can’t currently be set to apply once to a specific ticket.

Hi Lorenzo, after studying the forum and checking your reply, it seems like what I want will not happen. Somehow disappointed that it is not able to get a single discount on a multiple ticket registration, since this is a logical proces (giving a single use code for say a percentage or fixed value discount).
There was a user why modified the group plugin to do just what I al looking for (https://eventespresso.com/topic/how-to-use-discount-with-one-time-use-groupon-vouchers/). In his reply he mentioned that other users could contact him, but I can’t find any way to contact him. Could you perhaps get me in contact?

Update: The Promotions add-on for Event Espresso 4 is now available. With it, you can set a promotional code or a group coupon (single use) to just give a discount on one ticket in the registration process, not for all the tickets.
