Hi, I’m using Paypal standard as payment solution. Since a few days users was able to pay by credit card on the paypal website (there was a link inviting users who don’t have an account to pay with credit cards) but this link don’t exist anymore! you know why and how to solve this problem?
Thanks

Hello,

Guest checkout is still supported. However, if PayPal detects that you have an existing account, then they’ll encourage you to use it.

Also, we recommend switching to PayPal Express as it is more reliable than PayPal Standard as it does not use the Instant Payment Notification option.

If you are already using PayPal Standard, then you can already access to Express and you’ll still be able to accept payments through credit and debit cards and PayPal funds.

The steps for switching are below.

1) Locate the credentials in PayPal.com:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/paypal-express-payment-gateway/#setup

2) Copy and paste them into PayPal Express in Event Espresso –> Payment Methods

3) Try a registration and ensure that you are brought to PayPal.com. If you are then the credentials are valid. If you can’t get there, then there is an error on the credentials

4) Deactivate PayPal Standard

Hi there,

You need to make sure you put in the correct API credentials from your PayPal account, correctly. There are instructions for how to get the correct credentials in the documentation:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/paypal-express-payment-gateway/#locate

If the above does not help, then you can check the specific error messages in Event Espresso > Payments Methods > Logs.

If you see this error in the logs:

http_request_failed
cURL error 35: error:14094410:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert handshake failure

You can contact your hosting company’s support staff and let them know about the above error and they should know what to do from there.
