Payment error message

I am testing registering on my site and I am always getting an error message with the payments. I have upgraded to using EE4.

I can fill out the questions on the registration page, I click proceed to finalize registration, it shows a box at the top which says “Your registration has been successfully processed.
Check your email for your registration confirmation or click the button below to view / download / print a full description of your purchases and registration information.” and a button to view receipt. this is confusing as I have not paid… I also never get any confirmation emails…

Anyway the real problem is that at the bottom it says “loading payment information…” with the spinning gear, but it never loads. Licking on the “click hear to view payment options” gives the following error:

An error has occurred: We’er sorry ut there appears to be an error with the “reg_url_link” or the primary registrant for this transaction. Please refresh the page and try again or contact support.
EED_Single_Page_Checkout = _final_verification = 815

I have tried setting up for Aim, invoice and paypal standard payments. Both one at a time and together. Nothing I have done changes this at all. Both in firefox and safari.

Any suggestions would be great I am getting no where on this.

you can see the site at http://thestonetrust.org/event-list

I already submitted login info to you for support topic https://eventespresso.com/topic/recurring-event-manage-drop-down-list-not-displaying-correctly/#post-161142

Dean and Lorenzo were helping with that, resolved it, but now I am on EE4 for its features.

Hi Brian, who is your hosting provider?

Have you had a chance to test with only Event Espresso running to rule out a conflict with another plugin?

Hi Lorenzo,

the hosting provider is greengeeks.com

I have not tried turning off my other plugins, as they are part of running my live site.

Is that something that needs to be done?

Hello again Brian, I just retested this on one of our testing sites and did not see this issue:

Could you update to the current version of Event Espresso 4?

Then could you try a quick test with only Event Espresso running?

Okay, I just did a a few things you suggested:

Updated to latest version (sorry did not realize I was not).

Upon doing that there simply was no payment language at all upon registering no way to pay, nothing. But the confirmation emails both to the registrant and the admin worked.

I then deactivated all plug in’s except for event espresso 4.7.4 an the EE MER (EE 4.7.0+) this resulted in the same error I was experiencing before. I then deactiveated the MER and it all worked perfectly. I have the payment options I set up, confirmation emails go out etc.

But then no multi event registration…. which was the whole reason to switch to event esspresso in the first place (first w EE3 now with EE4).

I did a further test. Leaving all plugins activated except the multiple event registration, which I deactivated. Registration worked perfectly. I think the MER is what is messing things up…

Hi Brian,

I checked your site and it appears that the trouble may be coming from the event data that was migrated from EE3. I’ve got a few things I can check using some old EE3 data and we’ll get back with you if we find anything.

In the meantime, I’m fairly certain that if you try creating an event in EE4, the event that was made with EE4 will work process as expected with MER activated.

Ah that sounds like a reasonable explanation. I’ll try making some new events this evening.

Hi Josh,

I created to new events in EE4 calling them “2015 Pre-test” and “2015 September Test Day”. I activated MER. No change. with MER on the payment system gives me that error.

I tried signing up for these events both at the same time and individually. With MER on id does not work.

I did not duplicate these two events, but made them from scratch. I did use the custom emails, question groups etc. made when I was using EE3. Do I need to clear everything out and start from scratch????

Can you try testing one of those test events with MER, but with one change where the question groups aren’t assigned to it?

Hi Josh,

I unchecked all question groups for those two events (except the required f-name, l-name, email) For the one titled 2015 Pre-Test once I clicked on the proceed to finalize registration it gave no options for payment at all, (confirmation emails were sent). On the 2015 September Test Day I got the same old error, (no confirmation emails were sent).

I also made a new very simple event, one date, one ticket price etc. Same error message… ๐Ÿ™

Hi Brian,

There are some updates available for Event Espresso 4 and the Multi Event Registration add-on. Can you update to those? They include fixes for the issue you reported for the payment selection getting bypassed.

Hi Josh,

I have updated the versions of EE4 and the MER. The good news is that payment options does not get bypassed anymore.

The bad news is that the payment system is still not quite working. At the moment I am working with paypal and a downloadable pdf invoice.

With paypal it correctly forwards me to payday, and I pay, then when it directs me back to the registration page a pop up window warns the connection is not secure. If I click continue, it directs me back to the registration page, but the following error comes up:

An error has occurred: IPN Validation failed! Paypal responded with ‘ Internal Server Error Internal Server Error – Read The server encountered an in internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Reference #3.300ad817.1435784095.2add491f’
EE_SPCO_Reg_Step_Payment_Options = _process_payment_status = 1575

I get a confirmation email from EE that it was not paid. But the paypal records show that it was paid (both the paying and receiving).

When I select to pay with a downloadable invoice, I get a page that has the box with a button that says “view full order confirmation receipt” but now obvious place to download and invoice. I did find if I clicked the receipt button there was a second button at the top of the receipt that would give me an invoice, but that is not practically useable. Confirmation emails are also not sent with this payment method. If I click to pay via a downloadable invoice, it should be an obvious link or pop up automatically. Also If I click the link to resend the email it freezes the page with the little gear spinning.

I am planing to also use AIM with Authorize.net but I have not tested that yet. I would like to get something working right before I put any more effort into another payment option.

p.s. it would help a lot if I could attach screen shot images to this rather then describing it with words… i guess i can post the image somewhere and provide a link but that is a bit of a pain.

Hi Brian,

The insecure connection warning happens with some browsers when the return page on your site isn’t https.

Re:

Paypal responded with โ€˜ Internal Server Error Internal Server Error โ€“ Read The server encountered an in internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request

Can you check the server’s error log for the entries at the moment the IPN was received?
