Hi,

I recently bought the EE 4 plugin. First of all what a possibilities with this plugin, it all works very nice! But i’ve got a problem with the plugin that’s not sending out confirmation emails.

I’ve created an event for test purposes it has no costs attached to it (FREE). So the user must register and after the registration is completed he can view the invoice/ticket and get’s his confirmation send to the email he entered.

That last part isn’t working. And if i press “resend email” I get an error message saying: An error has occurred:
Something went wrong and the message for this registration was NOT resent EED_Messages – process_resend – 643

What i’ve tried:

  • Installed: check-email plugin (also didn’t send emails)
  • Installed contactform 7 (surprisingly Did send email!!)
  • Made no changes to any email templates of EE4
  • No other conflicting javascripts included (or commented out)
  • Included a very basic php mail function for test purpose in the footer.php (That didn’t send emails either)

Can anybody point me in the right direction how I can fix this problem?

Hi Morris,

Installed: check-email plugin (also didn’t send emails)
Installed contactform 7 (surprisingly Did send email!!)

That is odd.

EE uses wp_mail() to send the emails (as does the check-email plugin) which is a core WordPress function, so basically if WordPress can not sent emails, Event Espresso can not send emails.

It could be any number of issues but the easiest to check is that you have set up your Organization settings within Event Espresso -> General Settings?

If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages do you see a list of message templates? Like this – http://take.ms/IsjxG

Personally I would sign up with a transactional email service such as Mandill (free for up to 12k emails per month) and use their servers to send your emails. There is more info and a step by step guide available here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/

This removes your hosts mail server from the equation and uses Mandrill (which we can be sure is correctly configured) to send your emails.

Hi, Tony

Thanks for the quick response! I solved it, my gmail account was not my main email account for this website. With many hacks of wordpress my hosting provider said they had built in an extra safety or something in that way.

It was not caused by the EE4 plugin, and all works well now!

Thanks this topic can be closed.
