Not receiving any email confirmations, either to admin or to client

Im not receiving any emails from the system, either to us as admin or to clients whom register for an event. I went into the templates for registration approved and even put in the real email address instead of the shortcodes, and under management I ensured that our company email was there… Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

If you go to test an email from one of the email Message template editors, do you receive the test? If so, it may help to go to Event Espresso > Messages > Message Settings and set the the option for emails to be sent on the same request.

If not, can you verify whether *other* emails (like a WordPress password reset email) get sent from your site?

You can install this plugin to verify whether the mail actually gets sent or not:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-logging/

It’s important to discern whether the emails are actually not getting sent, or if they’re actually getting sent, but not received. If you find that they’re getting sent, can you check to see whether the emails are getting trapped in the spam folder?

In most cases, setting up a third party service to deliver email will resolve email delivery issues. The built-in mail servers (especially those that are used for shared hosting accounts) can be unreliable. We recommend using a service like Mandrill, Postmark, or any of the other services listed in our documentation for sending transactional email. More info here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/

Alternatively, you could also use a gmail account and configure a plugin like the WP Mail SMTP plugin to send the emails.

Thank you for the informative email.
I have gone through it, downloaded Postmark to the site, and successfully added the server API token, and sent a test email from their plugin successfully.
However, when I go to EE messages area, into registration confirmation template, and send a test email, I am still getting an error, see below.
Also, I did a forgot password request and got the email right away.
Anything you can assist with would be much appreciated.

The following errors have occurred:
The email did not send successfully.
The WordPress wp_mail function is used for sending mails but does not give any useful information when an email fails to send.
It is possible the “to” address (alexj@hopeforprisoners.org) or “from” address (courtneyl@hopeforprisoners.org) is invalid.

EE_Email_messenger – _send_message – 454
The test message was not sent
Messages_Admin_Page – _do_test_send – 3006

When you send the test email from the PostMark plugin’s settings page, can you make a note of the From: email address it uses? Then, if the From address used by Event Espresso emails is different, it will likely help to change the From: address used by Event Espresso emails.
