Nonce fail – ee waitlist

Every now and again, I get the following message from WP:

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Event Espresso – Wait Lists (EE4.9+).
When I click the error, I get Nonce fail. Any idea if an update will be release to fix this issue?

I have Version 4.10.10.p of EE installed and Version 1.0.2.p of wait lists add on installed.

Hi there,

Does it show the error within the email?

If so can you paste it here? You can set your reply private so only EE staff can view it.

Hmm, strange.

Do you have groups of waitlist registrations where the Primary Registrant has been trashed/deleted? (Primary Registrants show as 1 of X and will have a * in the registration list)

That error is being thrown when EE tries to pull the primary registrant linked the current registration it is generating a message for.

It depends if you need to keep track of the past registrations.

I’ve been investigating the above error and may have found the cause. Has anyone been using previewing and sending test emails for the waitlist templates at all?

Or if you look in Event Espresso -> Messages -> Message activity, does it list any waitlist message as failed with an email of farfaraway@galaxy.sp?

Yes, you are right. That failed message also corresponds to the day that I got the WP error, so that must be it.
I’ll ask my colleague to stop using Luke Skywalker for testing.
Thank you so much.

I’ll ask my colleague to stop using Luke Skywalker for testing.

That’s actually built into EE and used for previews and test sends.

The issue is actually based on how the very first event you created within Event Espresso is set up. EE uses some ‘real’ data to generate the previews, if the very first event you create has 1 datetime with more than one ticket, the dummy data sets up incorrectly.

The next version of Event Espresso has a fix for this.

That’s great thanks.
