Messages not sending

Hi,

Once again, the messages are not sending regularly. People are not getting their event sign up confirmation emails and as a result are canceling transactions. This means we lose money.

This has been a repeated problem with Event Espresso. We have asked for help with this issue at least 4 times before.

Also, the email block for each message keeps auto filling with: redacted – Event Espresso support team – LOC

No matter how many times I go in and delete it, it always puts this email back in.

website is:
http://www.cardunaldogtraining.com/

Also, how do we turn off the auto tutorial prompts, it’s annoying.

Thank you,
Elizabeth

Hi, the tour options can be turned off through Event Espresso –> General Settings –> Admin Options.

The email that is shown there was the email address for the most recent “test email.” You can replace it by setting a different email and clicking to send that test email.

For members that have sporadic issues with email delivery, we recommend Mandrill or Postmark app. These are transactional email services that can help.

Since this has been an ongoing issue, then I suspect that there is a problem with the local email server.

First, is your software up to date? If not, please go ahead and update it:

Next, are regular WP notifications such as new user registrations or password reset emails received? If not, then I would follow up with your web host to see if they can correct this issue. Note that if native emails for WordPress do not work, then emails for Event Espresso won’t work either.

Thanks

Lorenzo

We are using Mandrill and the plugin is the current version. We have had this same issue over and over and over again.

Hi, I didn’t see any feedback on my other questions. Specifically, are regular WordPress notifications received?

This is important as Event Espresso does not send out emails itself. It uses a native function called wp_mail which then uses the local email server. If there is a problem on the local email server, then the emails for Event Espresso will also have some issues.

I recommend checking with your web host to see if the local email server is configured correctly.

Why would the local email suddenly be an issue #1 and why would some go through and not others?

Yes all else is working.

Hi, we have an overview on how Event Espresso handles emails here (top part of page):

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/

I’m trying to let you know that Event Espresso itself does not send those emails and it can be affected by the local email server.

You shared that some emails do work so its possible that some of these missing emails are being marked as SPAM or Junk Mail. We regular recommend transactional email services but they can’t solve all issues related to email delivery.

Setting up SPF and DKIM records through your domain registrar and Mandrill can help reduce emails being flagged as spam:
