Mailchimp add on not working

We have had the mailchimp add on for many months. No issues. Today there is an error message in EE that states, “Invalid Mailchimp API”. I generated a new API on mailchimp. I entered it into EE and it keeps stating invalid API key. I then looked at all of our events and the mailchimp ad on is not even showing up.

Hi Laura,

Which version number of the MailChimp Add-on are you currently using?

2.5.0.p is the latest and MailChimp recently made changes to how the API works so you’ll need that version for it to work.

Thank you for the information. I have looked and I am unable to locate where I would find the version of Mailchimp that I am using. Could you please advise? Thank you!

Go to Dashboard -> Plugins.

Search for MailChimp there and you’ll see a plugin from Event Espreso, it’ll show the version number there.

Thank you! I found it and it had an update needed. So I did the update and it is 2.5.O But I do not see the mailchimp listed now on my events.

Do you see MailChimp listed under the Event Espresso main menu?

yes. Do I need to make an new API key?

You shouldn’t need to no.

Does it show the key as valid when you save?

In EE it does not show an API key now

I made a new API key and it appears all is working now.

Oh! Very strange.

I’ve not had any reports of having to create a new API key, I’ll make a note of that.
