Hello! Very excited to try out this feature ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m just not having the join button show. For example, I’ve set up the waitlist to show for this sold out event but it is not showing: https://waterworldswim.com/events/bridge-to-bridge-10k-2018/

Also, as I cannot test it, does joining the waitlist charge attendees? We prefer to have people pay in full to join the waitlist. If not, how does one go about charging them?

Happy new year and thanks as always for your help!

Hi there,

Have you set waitlist spaces on that event? – http://take.ms/fNWUu

It looks like there are no waitlist spaces on that event so the button is not showing.

Also, as I cannot test it, does joining the waitlist charge attendees? We prefer to have people pay in full to join the waitlist. If not, how does one go about charging them?

No, the add-on does not charge the waitlist users, it basically sets up a queue of registrations with a ‘waitlist’ status and then updates the registrations to pending payment, triggering an email to the user which contains a link they can use to pay and Approve their registration(s).

Hi Tony! Yes, I can confirm I set 50 spaces. I did also notice that we usually have a message that appears when less than ten spaces remain that says “Hurry, only X spaces left!” but that it not show either as this event got closer to selling out, so I’m trying to figure out why content beneath the pricing was generally missing on event registration pages (though the add to cart button obviously was there). Not sure if that helps or muddies the water!

How was that custom message added?

Can you post the code used to either Pastebin or a create a gist and post alink here?#

Or remove that custom code from the site and confirm if the waitlist button shows then?

Also, are ALL of the ticket types sold out on that event? Including the tickets that are set to member only?

That event does not appear to be sold out, it has a status of published which would be ‘sold-out’ if all tickets were sold out.

Hi Tony!

Yes, all spots in this event were taken. None are available. All the tickets have the orange bar next to them in the back end, but for some reason as you said, the event showed as published. I updated the status to sold out, and the waitlist button appeared as expected, which is great.

However it revealed a new issue – it is offering ALL tiers of pricing, including ones that have expired. Obviously we don’t want folks accessing old pricing ๐Ÿ˜› Is there a way to get it to only offer pricing that is within a valid “Sale Starts” and “Sell Until” window?

In the meantime, I have changed the status back to published to avoid any confusion on our website.

Here is the code we used for the remaining tickets message that no longer shows: https://pastebin.com/LwugxbVV

Thanks!

Oh sorry, neglected your first question – that extra code for the custom message was added via a custom plugin to avoid editing actual plugin files. I have a few other EE4 modifications/additions in there.

The fact that both the status hasn’t updated to Sold out and the above function (which uses $event->spaces_remaining_for_sale() to determine if the message should display) isn’t working would hint that something on this event is not sold out and there are spaces available.

Can you post a screenshot of the ticket and datetime section of the event? You mentioned all tickets are sold out with an orange status bar, but something is confusing EE with the amount of spaces available somewhere.

With regards to the Waitlist add-on, we’ve fixed it to only show the current active tickets in the latest release and will need to update the PR channel so you can download it.

Hi Tony – here’s a screenshot of the ticket and datetime section: https://drive.google.com/open?id=18sHxoEIE1sVlLFG24XBeRsPaup2Pf3Bm

I look forward to the updated add-on – any idea when it will be ready for download? Thanks!

hereโ€™s a screenshot of the ticket and datetime section

Hmm, strange, that should work fine.

I’ll try to reproduce.

I look forward to the updated add-on โ€“ any idea when it will be ready for download? Thanks!

We have a couple of tickets that need fixing but I’ll check as we should be able to update the PR channel to the current version whilst those tickets are being worked on. That update could possibly be today, but I’m not 100% just yet as I can’t speak with the devs to confirm due to time differences.
