Will there be an update for EE3 on iOS11?

It’s not a difficult update. Will you guys support it? If not will you honor pro-rated refunds for the years license?

Hi there,

I would recommend upgrading to EE4 if possible, as EE3 is reaching it’s end of life soon. Regarding the mobile app for EE3, it’s not something we are looking into updating. If you have a fix you would like to submit, then we’d be happy to take a look. Otherwise, have you considered buying an inexpensive Android device or using an older model iOS device (such as an iPod touch) that supports older iOS versions?

I’d be happy to upgrade the app if the codebase is available somewhere. I don’t see it on your GitHub.

That’s sounds great! I’ll follow up with you via email, so we can get you access to those files on Github.

Hi both, did anything come of this. We are using ee3 and am expecting 1000 tickets sales around halloween and unfortunately all our staff have iphones (not used android). We have a few customisations and am worried about moving everything across to ee4?

Thanks

Wayne

Hi Wayne,

The way forward will be to migrate to EE4. While someone may end up revising the older EE3 app to add 64-bit support, it’s not going to be officially supported by Event Espresso. Along with that, there are other reasons to upgrade to EE4 because it’s getting all of the resources put towards it.

I have EE3 because of the reoccurring events option. If I upgrade is this a seamless transition? Everything is created but our event is Nov 28-Nov 30 with registration having over 1,000 attendees needing to be checked in. Should we use my old iPads and iPhone 5s for checking it or upgrade to EE4?

That is an option, any iOS device running iOS 10 or below can use the Event Espresso 3 apps (as well as any other app that hasn’t been converted from 32-bit to 64-bit). Another option would be to use an Android device with the Event Espresso 3 Android app.

If you rely on the recurring events add-on for Event Espresso 3 then you should probably wait until recurring events is available for Event Espresso 4 before migrating to Event Espresso 4.
