internal Zend Error

I found the information previously on this error and I changed the espresso.php file on line 40 to say false.  My question is what is the consequence of that change and is there something else I should be doing?  I am not running the most recent version – was waiting until after several events to update.  Just wanted to see what I should do now, if anything.

Hi there,

I think you’re referring to this thread:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/internal-zend-error/

When $espresso_check_for_updates is set to false, the software will stop checking for updates. In that case you can manually update to the next version of Event Espresso when you’re ready to update. The manual update steps are listed out here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/updating-event-espresso/

Basically it’s backup the database, deactivate and delete Event Espresso and its add-ons, download and install the new versions.

Great Josh, thanks.  I can handle that and it is a simple solution to the problem of losing the site altogether.
