Groupon Coupons – Help

I just bought EE4 with the thought that I could add Groupon codes for redemption. I have sold over 1k on Groupon and still have 500+ to redeem. Will the EE3 Social Coupons Integration work with EE3? If not, what is the ETA on that being available? Additionally, Coupon Codes that I make up…how do I add those?

Hi Erick,

Currently EE4 does not support Promo/Coupon codes or Social Coupons such as Groupon, support for both of those are on our road map but currently not ready for release.

Will the EE3 Social Coupons Integration work with EE3?

EE3 does support the use of Groupon codes using the Social Coupon Add-onfull registration free.

Coupon codes are applied per ticket, so if you apply a coupon code to an event and someone registers for 4 tickets, the discount is applied to all 4 tickets. For example is a user registers for 4 tickets at $20 each (total of $80), with a ‘$10 off’ coupon, each of tickets would then cost $10, for a total of $40.

Ok, well I don’t want to have uninstall EE4 and put in EE3. I’ve bought and started learning this since I’m not a developer just building my own website and learning on the go. To use the Social Coupons Add-on I’ll have to buy, download and activate both EE3 and the add-ons? I just bought EE4 with the add-ons I need but they won’t be compatible with EE3. So I have to spend more money to get what I need when I could have just used EE3? Wow, this is becoming an expensive learning process.

As far as tickets w/coupon codes, I only let them buy 1 ticket per course/date because I need specific registration information from each (they don’t need to be a logged in user to buy a ticket) student that takes the course. But to do this I still need to role to EE3, correct?

Yes that’s correct.

If you need either Coupon/Promo codes or Social Coupon codes such as Groupon, you will need EE3, we do have these on the road map for EE4 but currently they are not ready to be released.

We can apply your EE4 purchases towards EE3 (which also gives you access to EE4) if you wish to switch to EE3.

I wish it was that easy. I’ve already gone live with EE4. I guess I’ll have to wait. I’m not going to be happy with what I’m doing now (manually entering old registrations) but I’ll have to deal with it for a little longer. From what I saw it is a popular add on.

Honestly, the other support issue I have is something I would like more right now. When I enter events with tickets the calendar shows the total number (15 seats x 5 different ticket types = 75 seats available) as all the ticket types combined when you hover over the event in the calendar. So when an event is sold out it shows: Registrations/Spaces: 15/75
Shouldn’t it say 15/15?
