I was wondering if it is possible to achieve the functionality found at http://www.blackpoolmagic.com/registration – we are looking to update our site. It is s single event over 3 days with various options. I.e. Adult and junior tickets. Full registration or partial with theatre ticket options on the three days. See the working site as it explains it best. Many thanks .

Hi Guy,

I found the link to the registration document: http://cl.ly/image/2U1E1z371b2B

This is possible with Event Espresso 4 as it supports creating multiple tickets and assigning them to different datetimes:

Thanks Lorenzo, is this functionality not available in the wordpress free install as I can’t see it?

This is available in the regular version of Event Espresso 4.

I guess that is not in the decaf version? If I have several projects that may use EE4 – can I buy an evaluation license (on dummy domain) and transfer to the first project (live domain) if suitable? Then buy additional licences for additional projects obviously!

I got access to the EE4 demo site thanks. It is rather confusing at first glance to set up the system we want. Can you let me know if it is possible to set up the following parameters:

Not sure I can work out whether EE4 can do what I want so I will try to ask a bit more if thats OK?

It’s a 3 day convention that has ticket options:

Adult Gold Ticket (£95) – Consists of:
– FRI Registration + FRI Theatre
– SAT Registration + SAT Theatre
– SUN Registration + SUN Theatre

Junior gold ticket (£68)
– FRI Registration + FRI Theatre
– SAT Registration + SAT Theatre
– SUN Registration + SUN Theatre

Then people can buy individually (again adult or junior):
– FRI Registration (includes theatre) (£58 adult £48 junior)
– FRI Theatre only (£30 adult £30 junior)
– SAT Registration (includes theatre) (£58 adult £48 junior)
– SAT Theatre (£30 adult £30 junior)
– SUN Registration (includes theatre) (£58 adult £48 junior)
– SUN Theatre (£40 adult £40 junior)

There are a couple of other factors – You can’t buy a junior ticket on its own (must have an adult). And we need to take registrant details for each ticket (but we wouldn’t want them to add registrant details for every single part of the ticket).

Does that make sense? If you go to http://www.blackpoolmagic.com/registration and fill the form out and click on gold / non gold etc – you will see exactly what I am talking about.

I love your software here, it seems very good, i just need to know it can do what we want before we buy it.

PS How much would a service be to set up this stytem as above and on our site?

many thanks.

Hi guy,

To do that within EE4 would require multiple tickets. Basically each selection would need to be within its own ticket. So to break that down…

Adult Gold Ticket (£95) – Consists of:
– FRI Registration + FRI Theatre
– SAT Registration + SAT Theatre
– SUN Registration + SUN Theatre

Junior gold ticket (£68)
– FRI Registration + FRI Theatre
– SAT Registration + SAT Theatre
– SUN Registration + SUN Theatre

That’s 6 separate tickets

Then people can buy individually (again adult or junior):
– FRI Registration (includes theatre) (£58 adult £48 junior)
– FRI Theatre only (£30 adult £30 junior)
– SAT Registration (includes theatre) (£58 adult £48 junior)
– SAT Theatre (£30 adult £30 junior)
– SUN Registration (includes theatre) (£58 adult £48 junior)
– SUN Theatre (£40 adult £40 junior)

That’s another 12 separate tickets. (2 each per option for Adult & Junior)

Which ends up with the ticket selector looking something like this – http://take.ms/S2m96

There are a couple of other factors – You can’t buy a junior ticket on its own (must have an adult). And we need to take registrant details for each ticket (but we wouldn’t want them to add registrant details for every single part of the ticket).

Whilst we do have ‘required’ tickets which takes care of setting specific tickets as required for registration, the problem comes from the selection of tickets available as you can’t then set all adult tickets to required (as you won’t be purchasing one of each every time)

And we need to take registrant details for each ticket (but we wouldn’t want them to add registrant details for every single part of the ticket).

Registration information is per ticket currently so you can not ask certain questions based on the selection of individual tickets.

It is possible to use Event Espresso for this kind of setup, although to keep a similar registration flow to your current setup, a significant amount of custom development work would be needed to simplify the checkout process, and provide the extra functionality needed.

Does that help?

Thanks Tony, yes it does help. However the graphic link you show would be a big step backwards in usability. Can you let me know the costs for you to customise EE4 to achieve what we have. (the other functionality of EE4 far outweighs what we what you see). Many thanks. You can get me on redacted-loc to talk privately.
