Empty Cart error

I originally posted a problem with items not being added to the cart and getting an error on the view cart page that there was nothing in my cart. Josh suggested it might be a problem with old templates. I renamed the old templates, moved my modifications to the new templates (I added html and the option to add to cart from the registration page) and am still getting the error It looks like you are attempting to refresh a page after completing your registration or your cart is empty. Please go to the events page and try again.” when I click on view cart.

Any other suggestions?

Hi, can you rename the uploads/espresso/templates folder so that there are no modifications being used at all and see if that resolves the issue.

If not then we will have at least ruled out the modifications causing the problem.

Also are all the add on plugins up to date? If you would like you can get all the data by going to System Status, and clicking the Generate Report button at the top, this will provide a lot of data you can copy and paste here.

Please let me know.

When I rename the templates folder, the option to add to the cart does not appear on the event so I can’t test the add to cart and view cart buttons. The customer didn’t want their visitors to go to a page with all the events listed, they wanted them to be able to add an event to the cart, move to other pages to add other events to the cart and then check out.

( I also just noticed an issue with the view cart button appearing in IE10, works fine in ff and chrome but spinning gif never produces the view cart link in IE. )

I had updated the EE plug ins this weekend so they should be OK- here is the info from the report.

Hmm, well even with the template files gone it is still doing it. Nothing looks out of the ordinary.

I notice you have the HTTPS plugin, and I saw here that this error has occurred previously due to the force SSL settings. https://eventespresso.com/topic/https-plugin-empty-cart/

Perhaps you can check these as currently there is nothing else that appears wrong.

Well I changed all the https settings and that does seem to be the culprit. But in testing it, the item selected on the registration page was not being listed as a selected item in the cart and when in the view cart page it would not allow me to select additional items to add them to the cart – no quantities were available in the drop down lists.

So I have more work to do there and just wanted to turn it all off so they could make standard payments today without the cart and now I am getting the same merchant error that I was before I upgraded espresso and payments are not going through. Error: SGS-020006: Please contact merchant services. Last time Sidney on your team helped me fix it and it was likely something in the templates that was customized to make it work and of course I replaced all of those when I upgraded and turned them off so the cart wouldn’t work. Original topic for that error is  https://eventespresso.com/topic/firstdata-gateway-error-after-3-1-30-7-upgrade/

So now neither works and I won’t be able to address the errors for a few hours.

If anyone has any quick suggestions for me, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks!!

I checked and one of the issues that you’re having may be caused by this:

Failed to load resource:
https://code.jquery.com/jquery-migrate-1.1.1.min.js?ver=3.5.1

It’s been noted that the jQuery CDN cannot load its scripts as https, so in this case you may need to track down the theme or plugin that is loading the jQuery migrate plugin from the jQuery.com CDN and change it so it loads a copy that is on your server.

Event Espresso includes a copy of the jQuery migrate plugin in it’s /scripts folder, so you could load it from there.

I also checked with Sidney and he said that it was an issue with the first data PEM file not being in the correct location. So you can make sure that the PEM file is uploaded to /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways/firstdata if you FTP into the server.
