Some of our users are reporting an error which can be seen at the link below:

I am not able to recreate the issue myself in any browser myself, however several clients are mentioning they are having this issue.

Please help us resolve this issue as quick as possible! Users on PC are reporting this issue as well.

Hi Susan,

I’ve just ran a registration and could chose a payment option and finalize the registration so I’m wondering if this only happens for specific events or all events?

Do you run any caching plugins or server side caching through your host?

Could WordPress’ default object caching be causing this issue?

Hi,

Nothing default in WordPress should cause the issue. However, if you have any caching plugins or server side caching, then that will definitely have an effect.

Here is a guide for excluding EE pages from cache: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/

For server side caching you will need to contact your host and ask them to white list those pages.

Hi Dean,

Caching is not the issue. It has been disabled, any other ideas?

Hi Susan,

When you say it has been disabled, did you fully clear out the cache prior to disabling? Have your tried clearing your browser cache or using an different browser?

I tested registering to July 28th : (For Babysitters Course – Brampton Fortinos **LUNCH INCLUDED**) and had no issues getting to the payment screen.

As per Tony’s question, do you know if this is limited to specific events or whether it is site wide?

Hi Dean,

This is a site wide issue. I am not experiencing the issue myself, however one of our staff and a number of clients are.

The issue has affected clients on Chrome and iOS. Could be more but that is what was reported…

Hi,

I noticed you have a custom error message – have you modified any of the EE files directly?

Susan Perry

No we have not. I believe we customized them in the backend.

We just got a call with a client reporting the following error code:

I just spoke with a client who relayed the error code she got when trying to register for the Milton BBS course on June 5th:

EE_spco.reg_step_attendee_information.process_reg_step.59B

Hi there,

Typically when we see this error and it’s intermittent, there is some kind of caching set up on the server. Can you check with your host to see if there is any kind of object caching or other server side caching going on?

I have memcache setup on the server, however it must be enabled through W3 Total Cache to work. Could it be causing this issue even by it not being enabled on the site?

Hi there,

I’m not sure how w3 and memcache work together.

You could check the wp-content folder, for a copy of object-cache.php in it. If it’s in there, regardless of whether W3 total cache is using memcache or not, memcache is likely active.

Hi Josh,

I looked in the wp-content folder and there is an index.php, however there is no copy of object-cache.php. Any other ideas?

Thanks

Can you ask your hosting company to uninstall the memcache module?

Will do.

Please let us know if that resolves the issues or if it still persists after that has been disabled and any remaining cache has been cleared.

Issue still persists, I am trying upgrading the system to EE 4.6.31 to see if that makes a difference. I’ll let you guys know in a couple days if we are still experiencing issues.
