Duplicating an event results in error message

I just updated to 4.8.28p and now get this message on a white page when I click “duplicate event”: “Can not delete post meta field for a post that has never been saved. EE_CPT_Base – delete_post_meta – 284”

I have not updated any other plugins and duplication was working fine until this point. Help appreciated and happy new year!

Are your add-ons for Event Espresso also up to date? Could you let us know the add-ons that are running on your site?

Hmm, I’ve not seen that error previously.

Are you using any plugins to manage custom post meta, ACF for example? It shouldn’t really make a difference, but I’m trying to narrow down the cause as duplicating events (with and without post meta) is working for me.

The event you are duplicating has been published previously correct?

Hi there! So I’ve narrowed the error message down to when I duplicate a sold out event. The other event statuses duplicate fine. I do not use anything to manage custom post meta. The add-ons I have are:

Calendar
Event Table View Template
MER
Promotions
REST API
Social Sharing
Stripe
Ticketing
WP Users

Hi Lauren,

That’s a bug they’ll need to fix. We’ll let you know when there’s an update that has a fix.

Update: The fix is included in the latest release of Event Espresso 4.
