I am currently using EE 3.130.7P and WordPress version 3.6.1 https://creativejuiceartbar.com/event-registration-2/?ee=1297 |
Hello, That version is from early 2013 so unfortunately we can’t confirm if it will work as expected: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/change-log/#3.1.30.7 I would duplicate a copy of the site in a staging site and run some testing. This will also allow you to try an update to the current version of 3.1.36.5.P which is supported. — |

Hello, My concern is that as of Aug 6 the WordPress Blog is saying that all sites running previous versions are strongly encouraged to update to 3.9.2 immediately due to a security risk. To clarify, are you saying that version 3.1.36.5.P will run on WP 3.9.2? Unfortunately I’m not a developer and creating a staging site for testing as you suggested is out of my league. |
Yes, WP 3.9.2 is a security update: https://wordpress.org/news/2014/08/wordpress-3-9-2/ However, your question was about 3.1.30.7.p which is from last year. I do see the urgency of the update to WP 3.9.2 but we don’t want your site to break if its using custom coding for your version of EE3. Does that make sense? The latest version of EE3 is compatible with WP 3.9.2. — |

Thank you. dumb question #3 here… is it best to update my EE3 plugins first, then update WP? Not sure which to do first. Thanks |
Hello again, First please backup your WordPress site. Then update Event Espresso 3: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/updating-event-espresso/#update_manually Then you’ll want to browse your site and try a registration in a different web browser. If everything looks good, then backup WP again and update the WordPress core to 3.9.2. — |
