Charging tax on social coupons

Hi I’m setting up Event Espresso using WordPress 3.4.2 with Event Espresso v3.1.32.P and am having some difficulty with Social Coupon Integration v1.5.3 . Specifically making sure tax is added onto total as deal sites such as Living Social do not include sales tax.

The events that accept social coupons are set up as a separate series.  I have set the base price for these workshops and tried setting the surcharge to be a flat rate (the amount the sales tax would be) rather than a percentage which would be dependent on a subtotal.

I then created a Groupon code and applied it to register for on of the events. The result was still a grand total of zero, no surcharge was applied.

Please let me know how to fix this problem, I would like to have this issue resolved before our new Event Espresso Registration site is published.

Hello Minna,

It sounds like this is working as designed. The Social Coupon add-on applies a 100% discount to the total if the code is redeemed successfully.

Also, it is very important that you update your WordPress installation for security purposes. The current version is 3.5.1. Event Espresso was updated recently to work with WordPress 3.5 and could cause problems if you are not on the latest version. Not being updated to the latest version could cause problems with other plugins as well.
