Dear Support

As per the title I have changed the permalink structure from http://ifasic.com/vzw/news/%postname% to http://ifasic.com/vzw/%postname% and now the template events page is not working, I have tried various things but nothing is working any ideas?

Hi Andy, it looks like you dropped news from the URL for the permalinks. Could you try deactivating Event Espresso and then reactivating it and browsing to the permalinks page for WordPress?

Also, are single event pages (e.g. example.com/events/my-new-event/) also broken?

Hi Lorenzo

I have done few things before emailing you, I have resent event espresso and after noticing that nothing did happen I even deleted all the tables and re-started again, I am still in development mode since the website with the event espresso wont go live until 2016.

In aanswer to your question it seems that the single event page is working see this link for your info http://ifasic.com/vzw/events/madrid-2015/

Hi Andy,

When you say the ‘template events page’, is this a page that you have manually created called ‘events’ with the slug:

http://ifasic.com/vzw/events/

Hi Tony

No in this case I refer to the default one created by event espresso, although after looking at the link you just sent I have a feeling the the cache fooled me.

I just checked on IE and Firefox and all seems to be working in good order

If you are running caching plugins EE should automatically prevent the page from caching although adding the exclusion rules here will do no harm:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/

Just to note the Event Espresso 4 /events/ page is actually an archive and will use your themes archive.php file to display the data (Event Espresso injects the details into the content).

I’m glad its working for you now, if you have any further problems just let us know.

So the “page” events is not a page, so let say I would like to display a specifit event in a specific page, example: the event Madrid 2015 in the page Madrid 2015, what should I do?

To be honest I have only just started playing around with event espresso, so I have a million questions, hopefully using the guide and the manual I should be able to set things up but I will definately keep in touch if any issues arise.

Thank you again

/events/ is an archive that will display all of your events.

All of your events are then child ‘pages’,

/events/andys-awesome-event/
/events/tonys-super-event/

and so on.

So you don’t want to link directly to /events/andys-awesome-event/?

You can change the /events/ slug to be something else if you prefer?

You could use the ticket selector shortcode – [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR event_id=”your_event_id”]

Which will display the ticket selector for your event wherever it is placed (obviously change “your_event_id” for your events actual ID)
