Change Single Events template to look like EE3

After playing around with EE4 for a few weeks (especially the event page), I’m forced to ask a silly question. How difficult would it be to make EE4’s single events page look more like EE3’s page. Something like this: http://trainingcompany.ca/register/event-registration-2/?ee=1041 . I’m not a coding expert but managed my way around EE3 fairly well. EE4 has me stumped.

Hi,

It would be helpful to know if you are trying use similar styling or if this question is more related to adding the registration form on the single event page.

In Event Espresso 4, the registration form is part of registration checkout so that could not easily be added to the single event page.

Hey Lorenzo, sorry for the lack of clarity with my question. In the link I provided, the event information is nicely lined up one underneath the other. The Price, Start Time, End Time, and Date look to be in a table with the respective details all nicely lined up. This information is followed by the Address. As opposed to a map, I would like a “View Map” button. In EE3, I found the template easier to customize. While I’m sure this can all be done, I’m having a hard time making heads or tails of where to make the changes.

I’ve gone through the documentation at length and I’m still not certain how to customize all of this. BTW, I would also like to get rid of the iCal button and just have the calendar icon. I found the corresponding css but that css impacts all the buttons. I’m not sure where to find the html elements for any of these pages so that I can customize classes, tables, etc… EE4 has demonstrated how limited my coding knowledge really is 🙁

Hi, we can provide some information on the templates to get you started.

However, assistance with redesigning the entire page for an exact match isn’t something that we can take on and we recommend getting in touch with an Event Espresso professional if that is your goal.

With that mentioned, please take a look at this resource:

If you are short on time, then take a look at the areas for the single event template.

Hi Lorenzo, I’ve gone through that document. Unless I’m mistaken, it doesn’t tell to customize the iCal button or how to replace the Google map with a link. Maybe we cant start there?

Hi Lorenzo, I’m not looking to redesign the entire page. I’ve gone through the document you listed above. Unless I’m mistaken, it doesn’t tell me how to customize the iCal button or how to replace the Google map with a link. Maybe we cant start there?

Hi, I replied with a sample template for the google map here:

The iCal button can be deactivated by using a code snippet:

Thanks Lorenzo. This helps a lot. I don’t necessarily want to deactivate the iCal button. I just want to replace it with the standalone calendar. I tried removing the yellow box through CCS – but this impacts all the buttons. Is there some code wizardry to do this?

Hi, could you provide a link to a page so we can see it?

Thanks

Hi Lorenzo, The links you provided were very helpful. With the current iCal button, I’m not looking to eliminate it but rather replace it with just the calendar image. How is this done?

Hey Lorenzo, I think frustration was getting the better part of me. I’m finally getting a handle on how the files are organized. I’ve accomplished pretty much what I needed to do – with your help. Thanks!
