Hello,
I was able to see the event description appearing in the mini cart but I could not duplicate on a testing site. Could you temporarily switch to another theme and re-test?
The return to event cart sounds like the theme is making some changes via Javascript:

Deactivating multi event registration plugin has stopped problems for now – on Reports in Registration admin there is this strange message however:
Data column(s) for axis #0 cannot be of type string×
