Hello,

We had several users complain about password reset issues. For instance they make their first purchase and provide Name and Email. The order is complete and payment is made via Paypal Express.

Now they want to buy a second event but get an error their account (email) already exist. Now they don’t realize they have to do the password reset to log in. In some cases they started entering alternate emails to move forward with the orders.

So I am wondering if there is a possible from the first order as they check out, it shows login or create new account. This way they can setup a new account (UN and PW) for future use or click login if this is their second order to move forward.

Please let me know.

Thanks

Josh

Yes, you can set the event to require being logged in before registration.

Hi Josh – Thanks for the quick reply. Thats how I have it set up but that is not what I am asking. I am looking for a way so users can set their password during their first check out.

Basically something similar to this
They select the tickets click register
Next screen shows what they have selected ans ask either to login or create an account. From there it goes to the normal fields it ask and any custom fields.

I hope it makes sense.
Thanks

Josh

It sounds like you don’t have Anyone can register box checked on the WP > Settings > General page. So step 1 is you go to WP > Settings > General, then you check the box for the Membership option (Anyone can register). Please be sure to set the New User Default Role to something like Subscriber or equivalent.

Then, in the events and in the WP User Integration settings, you set Force Login for registrations to Yes.

Then the registration process will be as follows:

They select the tickets click register.
Next screen shows what they have selected and asks either to login or register an account. From there it goes to registration form.
