Does Event Espresso work with WordPress MultiUser? If so, how does the price/licensing fee work in that case?

Hi Calvin,

How are you today?

Can I ask several questions which your answers will shape a better response.

– How do you want to use EE on a multi-site WordPress installation, do you want to give people the control to activate EE or will it be activated by default?
– What features are you after?
– How do you want to administer each website and provide plugin updates to those websites?
– Do you intend to contact EE for support on behalf of the blog administrators on your network or do you want them to contact us for support?

Thanks.

Hi Garth,

To follow up with answers to your questions:

– How do you want to use EE on a multi-site WordPress installation, do you want to give people the control to activate EE or will it be activated by default?

A: We want EE to be activated by default. We will be providing full management services of the site for client as well as handling the event registration and correspondence with invitees. We expect that in 75% of cases client will have us fulfill all backoffice tasks and the remainder will want enough control only to send out emails, and light duty tasks…

– What features are you after?

A: We want to be able to book events..both free and paid. Our clients customers will come to their respective sites, book the event and receive all necessary info to attend the events. Be

– How do you want to administer each website and provide plugin updates to those websites?

A: Each website will have to allow for super-admin access for our support staff and allow for a limited admin role for the clients so they may go and send letters, manual registrations, etc. I guess we would need to have some sort of permissions feature that allowed us to give the clients access to only the bare minimums so as not too 1) confuse them and 2) keep them from accidentally erasing information. A good idea would be if the permissions GUI had the ability to “hide” certain features of the system that most clients would never deal (due to lack of knowledge or lack of time to get over the learning curve).

– Do you intend to contact EE for support on behalf of the blog administrators on your network or do you want them to contact us for support?

A: Yes. We will be the contact point for all EE support issues, updates, etc.

Question #2: It looks like I began writing another sentence then stopped. Disregard the “Be.”

Hi Calvin,

We do not officially support multi-site configurations so we’d have to work with you on technical issues and pricing.

However, in general EE4 can be network activated. The gateway configurations are on a per-site basis so you’d have to configure those controls for each account/blog. However, you might be able to add some custom scripts to do that automatically. We do not have permission controls like you’re considering developed into EE4 at this time but we should have those features later this year.

Generally Event Espresso 4 can do a lot for you but it will also take some custom development. Does that make sense?

Hi Garth,

I assumed what we are looking to do would take some customization. The service we are creating is not an “out-of-the-box” solution.

I would love to speak with you and or your support/technical team on more specifics and determine what type of pricing EE will require for the solution we need.

Further discussion would need to take place in confidentiality. Can you shoot me a direct email and I will respond with my phone number.

Thanks Garth….
