Hi Victor,

Are you actually using the Event Espresso Upcoming Events Widget or the Custom Event Espresso Upcoming Events widget mentioned here:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/custom-widget-comming-soon/

The default widget should show on all pages without a problem, so should my original custom widget (its very similar to the original), I’m guessing you’ve modified it to add additional features?

How are you adding the widget?

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your reply!

im using the orginal Event Espresso Upcoming Events, and the custom is also enabled. by removing some lines in the standard widget of Event Espresso Upcoming Events.

both widgets are not customized with any extra code etc.

im adding the widget via ‘weergave’ and then select for example the sidebar to display the widget overthere.

in the events pages the widgets are displaying information.
in the pages for example the contact page with an sidebar the widget stays empty.

Hello,

Event Espresso doesn’t restrict where it widgets can appear (e.g. show on certain pages but not on others). Are you using a plugin that offers that functionality such as Widget Logic or Display Widgets?

Hi Victor, could you temporarily deactivate all plugins and then reactivate only Event Espresso 4?

Do you then see the widget site-wide?

You can restore your plugins after testing.

Another idea is does your theme itself have the ability to assign widgets through the page editor? I saw this last year on a site but this functionality was through a plugin.

yesterday it was working fine.

That’s important information that helps us narrow things down…

Between between now and then what has been changed on the site?

If you go to Dashboard -> Widgets -> Event Espresso Upcoming Events Widget

Is the ‘Show on all Pages’ option set to Yes?

hihi u mean that sarcastic?

No it was a genuine comment, letting us know that it was working the day before then sudden changed does narrow it down.

Are you running any caching plugins?

Can you link us to a page that its not working on please.

Hi Victor,

The sporadic issue that you described with it working fine and then suddenly not working sounds like it may be cache related.

Were you previously using any caching services such as a caching plugin?

Who is your web host provider?
