What is the link between tickets and event datetimes? EE4

I cannot understand the link between events date times and tickets. I’m using EE4.
I am trying to ticket an event where all the events cost the same amount. Each event 48 participants. There are 30 such event time combinations.

I have tried it both ways. I’ve made a single event whose beginning date is the beginning of the tournament and whose end date is the end of the tournament six weeks later. In this case I’ve used multiple types of tickets. Each ticket has a certain date and time that differs. I can specify the date and time for the ticket. But when I go to purchase the tickets there is no way to differentiate between purchasing one ticket or another.

Then I tried it the other way around. I made multiple events with just two types of tickets one for singles one for doubles. Again I was unable to purchase just the combination that I want.

Can you explain the difference between ticket and events and how they are related in your software?

Hello,

A datetime is when an event takes place and a ticket (pricing option) grants access to that datetime.

This allows you the flexibility of creating a simple event that takes place one day or a multi-day event.

Lets say that you have an event that has a limit of 50 guests and you would like to offer several ticket options.

You could create the datetime with a cap (limit) of 50 and then a standard ticket option and then a vip ticket option. For VIP, there are a small number of spots at 10.

This means that once the VIP tickets reaches 10, then that option will no longer be available. However, there will still be availability for the standard tickets up until the cap of 50 is reached. At that time, the event will become sold out since all available tickets have been registered for.

Will all of the tournaments (the 30 mentioned) run for six weeks and then end or do some of them start at a later time?

I can think of the problem two different ways:
Situation: 60 matches held at 30 different event datetimes (singles, doubles)
each registerant can choose singles doubles or both

Approach #1
One event – 60 different tickets
Approach #2
60 events
Approach #3
30 events – double tickets and.or single tickets

I see an example that I like on your site but not howo to reproduce it.It’s one where the students gets to select (I assume) one or more classes and the classes are just listed one right after the other.
Right now mine have a description after each event (I’m using approach #3) but not liking it. I’d rather have a little grid of event datetimes and let them just choose all events at once rather than go to event list, choose one, add to cart, go back to events, choose another, go back, etc.
Your help is much appreciated.
