We are receiving the following error: An error has potentially occurred…

We are currently receiving the following error and cannot update our Venues:

An error has potentially occured while attempting to update some of the information in your database. Please contact Event Espresso Customer Service so that they may look further into this matter and ensure that all data is correct

What’s the procedure for “contacting Event Espresso Customer Service” in this situation? Does this require a Support Token be purchased?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Bruce,

The procedure is to make a forum post just like this one!

What version of Event Espresso are you using? Have you just upgraded? If so from what version?

It might be that i you have updated you may need to re-install the plugin.

Hi Dean,

We are using version: 3.1.35.2.P

We have not updated recently. The problem arose while I was actively adding several venues using the Venue Manager.

After one of my saves, this manager page started throwing this error.

Hi Bruce,

Can you try deactivating, then reactivating the Event Espresso plugin?

That appears to have fixed the issue…grateful for the fix, but wondering what caused the issue in the first place or how deactivating/activating the plugin fixed it?!?

Hi Bruce,

When the Event Espresso plugin gets activated it runs a database update script. If the database update script started running but was interrupted (like when Event Espresso was updated the last time), it can cause an issue like this one.

When you deactivated then reactivated the script was able to run and finish its job.
