In all pages of the event espresso admin area (and no other wordpress admin sections) I keep getting the error ‘Warning: ColVis requires DataTables 1.7 or greater – http://www.datatables.net/download‘ and after pressing ok the pages don’t seem to operate correctly. For instance, I can’t add more date rows for recurring events.
I have just upgraded to event espresso version 3.1.36.5.P, and recurring events version 1.1.8.p as well as wordpress 3.9.1 hoping to rectify the problem but it still occurs.

Hi Shaun,
It sounds like another plugin (or possibly the sites theme) is registering an older version of the DataTables library before Event Espresso.
I would start by installing the Theme Test Drive Plugin and checking if the error remains when previewing one of the default themes within WordPress such as twentyfourteen. If it continues to show this rules out the theme causing the issue.
Then I would disable all non Event Espresso plugins and check the error was no longer displayed. If no, enable each plugin individually and check for the error between each one to find which plugin is causing the Warning message.
If you then report back with which plugin causes this we can investigate further
