Hello,

We’ve been trying out the plugin and specifically the way the waiting list works.

According to this pre-sales post https://eventespresso.com/topic/pre-sales-questions-22/#post-91676 if an attendee is deleted the first person in the waiting list should automatically be bumped to the main event.

This is definitely not happening in our tests. I also can’t find a way to copy a waiting list attendee to the main event.

Is there something I’m doing wrong?

Any help would be appreciated

Wordpress version: 3.9.1
Event Espresso: Version 3.1.36.5.P
Event Espresso calendar: Version 2.2.3.p
Custom template Display: Version 1.0

Hi Dimitris,

No you are not doing anything wrong.

Unfortunately the answer to your pre-sales question is incorrect, waitlist attendee’s do not automatically move from the waitlist event to the main event.

This would be a manual process of either re-registering the user onto the main event, or using the Attendee Re-Assignment Add-on (available through the Pre-Release Channel) to move the attendee from one event to another.

Hi Tony, thank you for the quick reply

That is very disappointing as we actually bought the plugin based mainly on the stated waiting list functionality.

Any downsides to using the pre-release add on? Any chance it will be ready in about a month’s time?

Hi Dimitris,

The attendee mover pre-release add-on should be tested thoroughly before using it in production. We’ve found that it works for most use cases, but it’s limited to single event tickets and that’s why it will continue to be in pre-release because it doesn’t fully support every possible ticket/registration type.

When you mention single event tickets I assume you mean that I can’t copy an attendee to multiple events, is that right?

Regardless, we have a very specific use for the plugin and are events will only have one non-paying attendee so hopefully it should be fine.

Any chance you’ll have an automatic waiting list in future? The only reason I chose this plugin over others was that pre-sales answer.

Hi Dimitris,

That is correct. You won’t be able to copy an attendee to multiple events.

We don’t have an automatic waitlist feature on the roadmap at this time.
