We would like to create a waiting list as needed, but we want it empty. We do not want the current enrolled participants to automatically populate into the list (when I create a waiting list after participants have signed up it takes all the attendees out of the original class and puts them into the waiting list course). I’ve been creating the waiting list by duplicating the event and changing the information within it (ex. changing the Event Status to waiting list).
We would like the option to choose participants from the waiting list to transfer into the class-not have to manually enroll them.
(when there is an opening in a class I am not sure how to transfer from the waiting list to the actual class without doing it manually, I believe moving them over is a manual process from what I’ve read).
We of course link it to the main event (overflow event). I’m wondering if there is a difference with copy/duplicating the event and then changing the event status to wait list or if you have to create a new event (like the instructions go through: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/create-a-waiting-list-for-your-event/).
It seems when we duplicate the event once attendees have signed up it brings them over as well.

Are you sure you are editing the duplicate event and not the original? Duplicating an event does NOT assign the attendees to that new event. However the original event will be displayed in the overview once you duplicate the event.
