Hi there,
I’m creating a custom ‘promoted from waiting list notification’, but for some reason I get an error when previewing my message. Any suggestions here?

Another question… I want to download a csv-file from a certain category ‘summerschool’. I want to be able to see the csv-file order by the participants (so based on people and not on events) to check if there is no overlap in the events they signed up for.
And what if I download a new csv two weeks later. How can I see the difference of the people who signed up or cancelled their registrations in the meantime?
And can people who sign up for an event, keep track of their own events by logging in? Thanks for your help in advanced!

Hi there,

The message previews use dummy data generated using the first event in your database, there is a known issue with the preview that happens if that event has multiple tickets assigned to a single datetime.

Order your events by ID, edit the event with the lowest ID and remove one of the tickets from the event if you can, that should prevent the above error.

Another question… I want to download a csv-file from a certain category ‘summerschool’. I want to be able to see the csv-file order by the participants (so based on people and not on events) to check if there is no overlap in the events they signed up for.

So you’re looking for a registrations report for events only in a specific category?

Go to Event Espresso -> Registrations.

Select the category at the top of the table and click ‘Filter’

Then at the bottom of the page clieck the ‘Filtered CSV Report’.

Now you’ll have a CSV of registrations linked to the category you selected.

You can use Excel (or whatever other app you prefer) to then order by registrant name.

And what if I download a new csv two weeks later. How can I see the difference of the people who signed up or cancelled their registrations in the meantime?

That’s not something we have available, the registration status is available in the CSV but comparing X week with Y week is not something we have within EE at this time.

And can people who sign up for an event, keep track of their own events by logging in?

You’ll need to activate the WP User integration add-on and add the [ESPRESSO_MY_EVENTS] shortcode to a page so they can view their registrations. Note it will only show registration that matches their user account exactly and if they have previous registrations from before that add-on was activated they wont show until they register whilst that add-on is active (to link their EE contact with their WP User profile).

Thanks for answering….
Another question: When there is a place available for an event that was fully booked and there is a waiting list linked to this event, how much time does the first person on the waiting list has to sign up for this event (and fill out the extra info) before the second person on the waiting list gets an email?

There is no automatic promotion of the ‘next’ registrant with the waitlist add-on.

The admin can manually cancel the pending payment registration and the next waitlist registration should then be promoted, but it won’t happen automatically after X amount of time.

Thanks, Tony for your answer. And what the “x” amount of time? Several hours or days?

Sorry, I’m not sure what you are asking?

If EE will not automatically promote the next registrant then x amount of time is infinite, it’s up to you, the admin how long you wait to promote the next registrant.
