I don’t know what is going on, and I havent used EE in quite a while (due to event being postponed twice from Covid)

I have a Wait List activated. You can see setting below (I Hope) … I can see that people are adding themself – but I can’ see how? The “Add To List” button is not present on my site. It should be at this page: https://superbilliardsexpo.com/events/womens-2022

I thought maybe I disabled it (not sure how) but someone added themself a week ago.

Any idea what is going on?

looks like something to do with “promoted” and “wait list” because those numbers combine to 64, so maybe that triggered the link to vanish?

Gonna play around with things .. will update

Hi Allen,

How popular is your event and are you advertising it in ways which would case you to get waves of traffic to the event?

The reason I ask is the waitlist feature will show on the event whenever the even status switched to sold out. You may now think that your event has spaces so it will not currently show sold out, but it will temporarily as waves of traffic hit, due to the reservation system.

For example, if you have say 10 spaces left and someone hits the ticket selector, selects 10 spaces and starts a registration, those 10 spaces are placed on ‘reserve’ for the duration of that uses session or until they finalize (by default they have up to roughly 1 hours).

If during that time another user hits the site, the ticket selector will show sold out and show the waitlist feature which they can then select.

The above is all normal ane excepted behaviour with Event Espresso and looking at the fact that you have 350 registrations vs 186 approved, I’d guess your event is fairly popular and the above is happening.

That should explain how users are managing to add themselves to the waitlist currently.

Did you look into the other numbers?

thanks – and yeah, I figured it out. The link disappeared because the Wait List was full also. I guess the person that signed up 3 days ago took the last spot.

I’ve had to process over 200 refunds and changes due to covid reschedulings. It’s been a nightmare. Combined with not having an event for 2 years, so I haven’t used EE in all that time either – so, I need time to relearn things.

Thanks!
