Wait list feature for EE4

Found a thread from about a year+ ago where someone indicated you were investigating whether or not to deliver wait list functionality in EE4. I’ve recently pitched a potential client who is interested in this feature for oversubscribed webinars and seminars they host for a local trade association.

Will this be coming to EE4 anytime soon or should I review whether or not EE3 is the best route for them if they select my company for the project?

Hi Scott,

It turns out that building the Promotions add-on is #1 priority, so for now I can recommend using a contact form plugin like Ninja Forms to capture names and contact info from those who want to be added to a wait list.

Since Event Espresso 4 has action hooks throughout its event display templates, it’s fairly straightforward to programmatically add a wait list form to any events that happen to sell out. Here’s a gist that show some example code that you can use that automatically adds a wait list form to the event page whenever an event sells out:
