Venues Locked – Nuke option?

Hi –
I have a problem trying to delete venues. I have 2 I need to get rid of, but they are locked. One of them I changed all the events assigned to it, and it is still locked. Is there a way to just nuke that event?

Or, is there a way to see a list of all events associated with that venue so I can less-tediously change all of them? (Maybe I missed one for the first venue that I changed).

Hi,

I am assuming this is for EE4? If so, the event overview has a Venue column that will show the venues attached to the event.

As an exercise I made this very small plugin that will list associated events within the venue itself https://gist.github.com/Apina/01b2066f217428fec182

Please note that this is not a supported plugin so will not receive updates or support – it’s just an example of what can be done to extend EE4.

Hi Dean – Ok, I take that back. I’ve still got problems. Your plugin to see what events were associated with each venue worked great. I moved all events out of the 2 venues I need to get rid of, so nothing shows up for the “associated events” column. But the venues are still locked, I can’t get rid of them, even though all events are gone.

Yes, I’m working with EE4.

If this helps: The main reason I want the venues deleted is because I’m trying to setup the calendar so you can view it by event location, since that is the most obvious way people will use it. But right now I’ve got 2 old event spaces which we no longer use, showing up in the drop down menu for venue options in the calendar.

What else can I do to get rid of those?
Many thanks!
j.

Hi Jason, information for Event Espresso venues is stored in the database in wp_posts (dbprefix_posts). You could search for a post type of espresso_venue to see all venues. Then check for the venue ID in the Venue overview screen. You can then remove that venue from wp_posts and it will no longer appear.

For example, if the venue that you want to remove had an ID of 123, then you would look in the list of espresso_venue from wp_posts and then find one with an ID of 123 and only remove that one.

That did the trick – Thanks!
