Hi all, I hope someone can help me here!

Currently i force people to register for my website before they can register for an event. The thing with this is that the user needs to click the activation link from wordpress in order to log in and register for the event. The problem with this is once they have activated their account, they need to then begin the process of registering for the event again.

Is there a way can set this so that the link in there will go back to the event page they were on? I dont really want it to affect all of the registrations, just the ones for events (so normal registrations would get the usual email)

is there an EE shortcode i can use in the registration page/registration email that would give me the link to activate and take them back to the page they were on?

I’d hoped there was a plugin that would do this, and there might be. If someone could point me in the right direction or offer me some advice on this. I’d just like to make the registration process a little bit smoother. I have noticed that i can make a custom registration page, would this be the way to go? or would that not do what i wanted?

If you’re using Event Espresso 4 + the current version of WP User Integration add-on (version 2.0.11) it will automatically redirect them to the next step (event registration form) after they fill out the new user registration form.

Hi Josh, would this work around the activate your account email? the user seems to get stuck on the ‘thanks for registering please check your email’ page. Then they end up back on the normal web pages. I will look at that option though as it could save me having to get a custom addon written to do this.

Thanks Josh

Hi Josh im sorry to double post but i have just looked at the addons bit and noticed that im running EE 4.8.38.p and Event Espresso – WP Users (EE4.6+) 2.0.10.p

Would updating these to the latest versions give me the functionality i need? because that would be fantastic if it did.

I do have a couple of custom addons from one of the dev teams mentioned on the EE website, im guessing updating could upset these if im not careful?

Yes the redirect was added in WP User Integration add-on (version 2.0.11). If the custom code was done correctly, updating should cause no issues. You can check with the developers or run the updates on a staging server to test there first before updating on the live server.

Hi,

Funnily enough the developers i had asked about this in the first place has emailed suggesting to upgrade first so i think thats the obvious choice. The custom work they have done are plugins so it should be alright i imagine.

Thanks Josh

Phil
