This is URGENT. The new EE version (installed today) broke registration for a current event. First I got a captcha error message. I remember your advice on a plugin a while back so I disabled the Spam shield plugin. We are now seeing the following message. The registration works for us if we are logged into the web site. It was only noticed when people starting contacting us for problems registering.

ERROR: Invalid domain for site key

Hi, that is a message from Google’s ReCaptcha.

Could you double-check that your credentials are set correctly with no extra characters or spacing?

If you aren’t sure, then I would register again and create a new set of credentials.

Thanks, Lorenzo.

Just to clarify, is this Google ReCaptcha something tied to EventEspresso? I know I had probably registered for a Google key in the past, but why would it suddenly not be working?

Actually, I see that my current registration key was for blog.itc.mb.ca. Should I delete that key and register for simply itc.mb.ca?

Hi, ReCaptcha is a service from Google.

The domain that is linked to the ReCaptcha key will need to match the domain that the key is used on. If your domain has changed, then please create a new key and update that in the ReCaptcha settings area for Event Espresso.

That should fix the issue.

Thanks

Lorenzo

Thanks, Lorenzo. It appears that the key had changed but not been changed on the site for some reason… It seems to be working now, EXCEPT I have something weird going on with the appearance of the registration form in Internet Explorer. It displays correctly in Chrome and Firefox.
