URGENT: Even Espresso Dates All Wrong

Hi,
We have events created in event espresso. Everything was working find until recently when the dates have gone all haywire. It is showing registered date as 8th Feb 2018 and 5th Feb 2018 etc when today is 2nd of Feb. So how can people be registering in the future.

Also the actual event is 17th of Feb which was the date that we had in event start and event end. For some reason it changed that to random dates as well. We keep changing it but it just keeps reverting back to the wrong date because apparently tickets have already been sold. We can get a new ticket created but then all the messages / tickets are sending the wrong dates.

This needs to be fixed asap. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

You’ll need to make sure that the site Timezone option (set in WP > Settings > General) is set to match a city in your timezone. If it’s set to a UTC+offset then the dates and times will be all wrong.

Hi. Thank you for getting back to me. The timezone is set up correctly as our Australian Timezone (UTC+10) in our wordpress settings. There is something else going on.

‘UTC+10’ is not a valid setting, you need to set the timezone to match a city close to your location, or at least a city that uses the correct offset for your site.

We added a notice to EE for any users using a UTC offset in the above setting that linked to this post explaining the problem:

https://eventespresso.com/2017/08/important-upcoming-changes-dates-times/

So you’ll need to adjust the above to a city and then confirm if the dates are correct (without updating the event) or if they have all shifted by X amount of hours. We have a utility to fix all the dates at once if they have shifted after setting a valid timezone, you’ll also find details on that utility in the above post.
