Upgrading to EE4 breaks paypal IPN notifications.

After upgrading from EE3 to EE4 (much like the sites last major upgrade) it seems to always break the communication between paypal and the registration data stored in the site. Transactions are not properly completed even though they go through the proper request/payment process. Again, this happened during the last major upgrade and we do know that the IPN is setup properly in paypal and we are using your barebones transaction template. Nothing has changed except for the upgrade in your plugin versions.

Hi Brenda,

There are actually some issues right now with the PayPal IPN that affect sites that use EE3, EE4, and other e-commerce solutions. You can avoid those issues by using the PayPal Express payment method that’s bundled with Event Espresso 4. Your same PayPal account can be used with PayPal Express, and you can locate your PayPal Express API information by following this guide:
