Upgrade from Lite to Pro

Hello,

I am currently on Event Espresso Lite 3.1.36.4.L but I just purchased a pro version. How do I upgrade to it? Can’t I just enter in the license key or click an upgrade button? I don’t see either option. Do I really have to reinstall? I don’t want to lose current events I have created that are running.

Hi Alex,

You’ll need to remove EE Lite and install the premium version of Event Espresso.

Doing so will not lose any of your events/settings as they are stored within the database.

The first step is to create a full site backup, this includes the site files and database. We have a guide available here:

After you have done that you’ll want to follow this guide:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/updating-event-espresso/#update_manually

After this you will be able to add your site license key and use One-Click updates.

Are you looking to update to the latest EE3 or changing to EE4? (EE4 is not just another update to EE3 but a complete re-write from the ground up)
