Hello. I have an issue that perhaps someone could help me with. I am currently using the seating chart for events espresso 3. The seating chart has approximately 2800 seats and I have added the “reserved” tag to a few hundred seats that will be sold by offline vendors. This way online customers will not be able to purchase these specific seats. So, my concern is that, in the case that we find that more seats are being sold offline than online, I would like to go into the seating chart and “reserve” some more of the seats that have not been sold yet? (And the event would be live at this point)
How would I got about doing this? Maybe I’m thinking it’s simpler than it really is but I thought that I could simply replace the excel file through the ftp with updated “reserved” tags, and it would update the seating chart and now those seats would show up as reserved? Because I know that EE3 will not allow you to switch the seating chart while there are attendees registered. Would it be that simple, and what directory would I go into to replace the seating chart?

Hi there,
I turns out that when you import a seating chart CSV into the seating chart manager, it converts what’s in the CSV file to data in the WordPress database. Once the chart is in the database, it cannot be replaced with another imported CSV file.
What you can do is go into the Seating Chart manager, select the chart, and edit seats individually from the Seat List, then add the reserved tag to your selected seats.

Wow that’s great! It looks like it will be easier this way. However, am I able to edit these seats once the event is live and I have a few registrations?

Hi, you should be able to make changes to open seats. I would try this during off-hours so your attendees don’t run into seats becoming unavailable in the middle of a registration.
