Hi!

One of our clients mentioned having difficulty using Event Espresso, because it’s in English and her native language is Dutch.
Our site is in Dutch (Dutch → Dutch) and we used the Poedit to automatically translate the majority of .po file we got from the Event Espresso 4 GlotPress.
We were wondering if you could update GlotPress with this .po file so we can redirect our clients to GlotPress to make new translation contributions.

Would this be possible?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Our site is in Dutch (Dutch → Dutch) and we used the Poedit to automatically translate the majority of .po file we got from the Event Espresso 4 GlotPress.

Is this not essentially the same as running the strings through something like Google Translate? If so we wouldn’t normally submit automated Google(ish) translations through GlotPress due to how varied they can be.

I’ll check with the rest of the team on this but in the meantime, may I ask you need to use GlotPress for this? If you’ve already translated the PO file would it not be better to manage through POEdit or similar?

Correct. There is a variation between accuracy, Poedit has indication of the level of certainty it has. So some strings are 100% correct others are 90% etc. If it would mean

Unfortunately we haven’t been able to translate everything considering there’s quite a lot of strings to translations. GlotPress would allow our clients to do the translations themselves in centralized fashion. There would be no need to send .po files to each other to make sure that nobody is translating strings that are already translated. It would also allow other (Dutch) users of event espresso to benefit from all the translations we have already done.

My Apologies for the delay, I’ve merged your PO file into the project and also made sure that all of the latest strings have been added to GlotPress.

(Only 1 new strings added, 0 updated, 3 fuzzied, and 7 obsoleted from what you have in your PO file)
